I can remember an old school painter shooting flake years ago…and he said the flake will “stand up” if no reducer is used….that stuff was called Wildfire…massive sized flakes…70’s style…They were so big i wondered how it squeezed thru the nozzle.
doberfag · July 28, 2011 at 10:20 pm
@wildeyednorthernboy cant have too much 70’s style patterns and lace and fogging and flake
wildeyednorthernboy · July 30, 2011 at 11:22 am

Great vid Pete. One question…Did you learn how to paint through trial and error or did you have a mentor show you how to do things in the beginning? I’m just curious how you got to where you are today.

Never done Metal Flake. I paint all the Legends race cars in our group of friends. Paint 10 cars a year. Since they tear up, we put cheap paint on them. They get redone every year. One guy had to have Candy green paint. He brought me Matrix from Auto body panels. Hell i looked on all the cans and it wouldnt even show you haw to mix it lol. I called Auto Body panels and it took me 3 hrs to get a answer. ABP sucks big time. Last time i will shoot Matrix. What a bitch, but it came out good.
