@basirtje This song was done by several different artists, Comander Cody, Roger Miller, but i think the origonal version was done by Charlie Ryan

I love this song, but it always said it was another artist.
Now I’ve decided to look the song up to see who actually performs it. The Wikipedia page, however, claims this version is Johnny Bond’s (there’s some explanation of the changed lyrics), so you may understand I’m not sure which one to believe. If anyone can help me out with this, that’d be great :).

ummmm you are slightly mistaken. the first “hot rods” were first around slightly before world war 2 era. not world war 1. like mid to late 30’s in SoCal. and then the trend really picked up by the end of world war 2. not to mention the black and white picture is in front of a backdrop. not really on an air-strip
