I’ve got one of their singles from the 70s.

I bought ‘doing anything they wanna do’ as you suggested and it does indeed include about 8 tracks including lew. they are so much better then the tracks without him (cause I’ve got some eddie and the hotrods other cds). Thanks for letting me know about this CS hotrods2008. x

All the pre -Island demos featuring Lew including “Denver” were released on a cd called “Canvey 2 Island” but its pretty hard to find now. They also appear on the compilation “DOING ANYTHING THEY WANNA DO” a cd on the anagram label.

God! I just love this thing so much I keep on revisiting it just to get another fix.
Pisses all over the version that appeared on their LP a few months later.

Is that Lew Lewis though – I thought he’d left by the time they played the Marquee?
Thanks for replying by the way.

Nice shirt, Barry. Goes to show that the Hot Rods were an English take on American – thanks to Ed Hollis’ extensive record collection, e.g. J. Geils Band “Full house” live in Detroit LP and Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band “Live Bullet” DoLP.
Thanx, Skydog, the label who gave us “Metallic KO” and so many more top records 😉

Just awesome! – I saw this line up in the really early days and was gutted when Lew left – the early studio cuts with Lew were better than the eventual album – thanks for posting!
