Williston, Vermont, 1964
While this group of January 1964 photos of Williston from the Vermont Landscape Change project seem to show a sleepy little country intersection, the area wouldn’t remain rural for too long. After all, one of the roads in the intersection is Route 2, a major artery into Burlington, and why else would an intersection warrant two service stations if not for plenty of traffic there? Nowadays, of course, there’s plenty of development all around the area, but there is still a gas station on one of the corners. What do you see here?
