Volvo Announces Polestar Performance Parts for Select Models

Volvo has launched a line of performance parts from its Polestar performance division for the S60, V60, XC60, and Euro-market V40. These include alloy wheels, exterior design elements, chassis and suspension upgrades, exhaust systems, and other accessories. Polestar performance parts will also be covered by Volvo’s warranty and can be purchased as a complete package, in combination with Polestar’s engine optimization tunes, or as standalone options.

”We have received strong feedback over a long period of time from customers all over the world regarding Polestar Performance Parts. We are delighted to be able to meet the demand, starting from today. This is a product improving on the already strong base of Volvo cars in terms of performance, handling and driving pleasure,” said Niels Moeller, Chief Operating Officer of Polestar, in a release.

Suspension upgrades include coil springs and shock absorbers while the only engine upgrade is a sports air filter. Interior cosmetic upgrades include a rear spoiler, door sills, sport pedals, and a gear shifter with the Polestar logo embedded in it. Exterior styling accessories include stainless steel exhaust pipes, a unique rear diffuser, black door mirror caps, a rear spoiler, lower door panel accents, and a lift gate/trunk handle. Lightweight alloy wheel choices include 21-inch units for the XC60 and 19-inchers for the S60, V60, and V40.

The introduction of Polestar performance parts follows Volvo’s announcement of performance upgrades to T6 AWD models equipped with the new family of Drive-E engines. Volvo bought out Polestar in an effort to produce more performance-oriented vehicles including models that use plug-in hybrid technology.
