If you ever wondered what goes on in the mind of someone that builds hypercars for a living, or what inspired them to get into that line of work in the first place, you’ll want to watch this video from XCar. It’s a long one, at 30 minutes, and it’s exclusively in Italian so you’ll be reading subtitles, but this interview with Pagani founder Horatio Pagani is a must-watch for anyone interested in his brand’s ultra-performance vehicles.

The short film details Pagani’s childhood, his inspirations and how he got into building things in the first place. There’s a lot of talk of working with your hands, and Pagani the man also mentions how Pagani the company try to use a Da Vincian blend of art and science in its designs. There’s also a lot about his cars, and how Juan Manuel Fangio was one of the big reasons the Zonda and Huayra ended up with an engine from Mercedes-AMG.
