Why this Esso station caught the eye of the city of Toronto’s photographer, it’s hard to say. Possibly for a future rezoning – the modern-day street scene of the corner of Avenue Road and Chicora Avenue shows that the station has been long demolished and replaced with something else entirely – and certainly not to provide carspotting fodder for us old car nerds more than 50 years later, but hey, we’ll take what we can find.
