This Guys Garage: Jim Hastings

“I’m 65, but I’m still in really good shape. I even went surfing in Hawaii last year,” Jim Hastings tells us while discussing his garage in preparation for writing this article. A retired heavy-equipment mechanic, he tells us his job was hard and oftentimes unpleasant, especially while fixing semis broken down on the side of the freeway in the middle of the desert, but he thinks the 28 years of heavy lifting kept him in good shape so he can now enjoy his retirement. “These days ‘have fun’ is the only thing on my agenda,” he says. You’d have to be a real Debbie Downer to not have fun with any of these three awesome cars in your garage. Let’s take a closer look.
