This Day in History: GM discontinues Pontiac

On April 27, 2009, General Motors officially discontinued the Pontiac marque. The venerable brand was established in 1926 as a companion to Oakland, which it quickly surpassed in popularity. During its long history, Pontiac had such hits as the Star Chief and GTO. The final Pontiacs were built in late 2009 and early 2010.
