This Day in History: Frank Zamboni Jr. born

As Google reminded us with its doodle today, January 16 is the birthdate of Frank Zamboni Jr. (1901-1988), who built his first eponymous ice resurfacing machine atop a surplus Jeep in 1949. David LaChance wrote about Zamboni – both man and machine in the September 2006 issue of Hemmings Motor News, and we thought it was worth taking a second look at the story today.
