Sunday HOT RODs From The Race of Gentlemen 2017

Published by Mike on

Put it in the books. This year’s TROG event on the sandy shores of Wildwood, New Jersey will go down as one of their finest shows to date. After a few years of fighting through bad weather and bad luck, this year’s Race of Gentlemen flourished under constant blue skies and top-notch racing.

Meldon Stultz and his Oiler crew put on a show that drew spectators in by the truckloads. The streets, restaurants, hotels and boardwalk were filled with eager race fans, wanting to see period perfect racers dueling it out on the sand. The only complaints this weekend at TROG was for sunburn… a problem that I think we can live with.

After a long race day on Saturday, a big bonfire celebration was held on the beach, and fans and racers alike hung out for the festivities. There was plenty to see and do throughout the weekend. Even if beach racing isn’t your thing, TROG made it interesting for the general public, with stimulating displays and exhibits, all to enhance the hot rodding experience from novice to expert.

Sunday’s races were an all-out sand-blast of fun and featured spectacular racing, with matched cars and bikes run against each other in bracket style.

So what’s next for TROG? Well it looks like Mel and his Oilers have some interesting plans up their sleeves.
