Staging Lane Pileup at NMRA/NCMA Superbowl
Ouch — these photos of a staging lanes crash from the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl are hard to look at! Allegedly the mechanical throttle linkage of the Watson Racing S550 Mustang hung up, which caused it to drive into a line of cars in the staging lanes. Friend of HOT ROD, Dom Damato, was there and snapped a few cellphone photos of the mayhem.

We can see that a SN95 and Fox Mustang were hit, along with a 1970-1971 GT-37 Tempest, a 1966 Chevelle SS, and a C6 Corvette.
While an accident like this is rare, it stands as good reason for why you keep your head on a swivel at all times while at a track. Thankfully, no one was injured, and the vehicle damage was reportedly minor.
