SIA Flashback – Stutz’s Companion: 1929 Blackhawk
Of all the companion cars of the 1920s and 1930s, perhaps the one that differed least from its parent car was the Blackhawk, built by Stutz. With the same bodies and chassis, the Blackhawk only offered smaller or lesser engines, for the most part, and remained rather high-priced for a companion car. For SIA #148, July 1995, Kit Foster put together the Blackhawk’s story and discussed the various reasons why neither it nor the Stutz made it out of the Thirties alive.
