SIA Flashback – Inside Pacific Auto Rental’s Legendary Treasure Trove

Just like Joe Wilharber’s Foreign Auto Rentals, George Schweiger’s Pacific Auto Rentals in Los Angeles didn’t rent its stable of cars to the public; rather, it rented them to the film industry. Also like Foreign Auto Rentals, Pacific Auto Rentals’s inventory included a wide variety of cars, many of them luxury cars, for the studios to choose from. For his article in SIA #171, May 1999, Richard Kelley shared some photos from inside Pacific Auto Rentals from before the collection was sold off at auction, along with some details on exactly what cars Pacific Auto Rentals had in its inventory.
