SIA Flashback – How Swede It Is! The 1938 Nordbergs Roadmaster
As one of Sweden’s top coachbuilders – if not its only top coachbuilder – Nordbergs did indeed provide bodies for Volvos, but it also built ambulance and other utility bodies, and it made bodies for a number of imported cars, including a run of a few dozen Buicks. This Nordbergs-built 1938 Buick Roadmaster is one of the last Buicks that Nordbergs bodied, and then went on to feature in a number of Swedish films before being thrown out like so much trash. Michael Lamm and Per-Borje Elg presented its story – and the story of its rescue – in SIA #150, November 1995.
