SIA Flashback – Express Delivery

While plenty of observers keep claiming trucks and pickups will become the next hottest collectibles, they’re a little late to the party, as we can see from Arch Brown’s driveReport on a 1947 Studebaker M-5 Coupe Express pickup in SIA #173, September 1999. By then, it wasn’t all that unusual to see nicely restored pickups like the one profiled here, which got loaded up with just about every option and accessory and even a few aftermarket items during its show-winning restoration. As for the truck itself, Brown acknowledges it’s no performance machine, but still gives it fairly high marks.
