SIA Flashback – Driveable Dream: 1930 Oakland
Some critics charge that people who keep their all-original cars untouched, unpainted, unreupholstered, unrestored, and unrechromed are simply lazy or cheap. Those critics would do well to read through this Driveable Dream article by Jim Donnelly that appeared in SIA #195, June 2003, which recounts Wayne Koffel’s reasoning for keeping his 1930 Oakland V-8 roadster exactly as Oakland built it, except with a laborious engine rebuild and meticulous care to keep it preserved in the state it’s in.
