SIA Flashback – 1982 Imperial: Lee’s Legacy of Luxury

While Arch Brown didn’t quite answer the question he raised of Lee Iacocca’s role in the parentage of the 1981-1983 Imperial in his article for SIA #16, January 1999, he did give a full account of the luxury trappings that allowed the Imperial to live up to the promise of its name and that accounted for the weight and sluggish performance that the Imperial demonstrated on its test drive. Then again, since when was an Imperial supposed to be in the least bit sporting?
