Short Track Races This Weekend (3/24-26)
Now that Spring has officially sprung – whether Mother Nature agrees or not – the short track racing season is beginning to rev up around the country. We took a look at some of the series and events taking place this weekend.


American Sprint Car Series
Sunday – Missouri State Fair Speedway (Sedalia, MO)
-Defending ASCS Champion Sam Hafertepe is two for two so far in 2017. He swept a pair of events last weekend at Devil’s Bowl Speedway.


CARS Tour
Saturday – Dominion Raceway (Thornburg, VA)
– Harrison Burton (Super Late Models) and Josh Berry (Late Model Stocks) won the season opening CARS events at Concord Speedway two weeks ago.


Carolina Clash
Saturday – Fayetteville (NC) Motor Speedway
– Johnny Pursley leads the early-season point standings after his win two weeks ago at Carolina Speedway.


Mansfield Motor Speedway

Saturday – Triple Crown
– Saturday marks the debut of dirt at Mansfield Motor Speedway. The event will feature Sprint Cars, Late Models, and Non-Wing Sprint Cars.


NASCAR K&N Pro Series West
Saturday – Irwindale (CA) Speedway
– Chris Eggleston and Todd Gilliland have split wins so far in 2017. Gilliland was victorious in the series’ stop at Irwindale last season.


NeSmith Dirt Late Model Series
Friday/Saturday – Oglethorpe Speedway Park (Pooler, GA)
– NeSmith visits Oglethorpe for the 4th Annual Emory Stone Spring Race for a Cure. Prizes of $2,000 and $2,500 are on the line.


POWRi National
Friday/Saturday – I-44 Riverside Speedway (Oklahoma City)
– A pair of visits to I-44 Riverside this weekend marks the opening of the season for the POWRi National Midgets. POWRi expanded this year to also include the WAR Sprint Cars. That season begins on April 8 at Valley Speedway in Missouri.


Pro All Stars Series (National)
Saturday – Orange County Speedway (Rougemont, NC)
– It’s the second PASS National Championship event of 2017. Jared Irvan took the win in the Winter Meltdown at Dillon Motor Speedway on February 4.


World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series
Friday/Saturday – Stockton (CA) Dirt Track
-The Outlaw Sprinters continue their western swing with a pair of races at Stockton Dirt Track this weekend. Defending Champ Donny Schatz already has six wins in 2017.


World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series
Friday – Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, MS)
Saturday – I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, AR)
Sunday – Lonestar Speedway (Kilgore, TX)
– The busiest group of the weekend will be the World of Outlaws Late Models. Back in action for the first time since Speedweeks the outlaws span three states in three days. Brandon Sheppard – still seeking his first series win of 2017 – leads in the point standings.
