Santa Fe, New Mexico, 1972
We’ve heard plenty of times about farmers out West using old cars to shore up riverbanks, or using car frames as fence posts, but this shot by Danny Lyon, taken for the EPA’s Documerica project in May 1972 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, shows cars and trucks stacked to create a fence. The photo description doesn’t give an exact location, but there’s at least enough detail here to identify the cars and trucks. Carspotters, what do you see?
