San Francisco, 1962

With the theme of bridges for this week’s street scenes posts, we simply can’t overlook what is possibly the most famous bridge of all, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. Finding some good vintage photos of traffic on the Golden Gate took some searching, but we did turn up these two on the San Francisco Public Library’s photo archive site, depicting rush hour traffic over the bridge in 1962 (the above photo was shot in May, while the second was shot in August). Carspotters, have at it!
