Rear View – Fast Eddie Hill

This photo was snapped at the ’90 Supernationals in Houston. The Top Fuel Dragster was nicknamed The Atomic Banana after being the first Top Fuel Dragster to run a sub-4-second e.t. Note the ultra-small wheels on the front of the car. Hill was credited with this and a large number of other innovations in both car and drag-boat racing and has numerous championships in both disciplines. There are other, more famous drivers, but Eddie Hill and the Banana were arguably the most interesting to watch on TV and in person.
