HISTORY ASPECTS:
The USS Enterprise (CVN-65) was commissioned in 1961 and served in numerous conflicts including the Vietnam War the Gulf War and the War in Afghanistan. The ship was also involved in various military operations such as Operation Desert Storm Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In 1978 the Enterprise deployed to the Mediterranean with the VF-84 “Jolly Rogers” squadron which operated the F-14B Tomcat. The Jolly Rogers flew missions in support of NATO operations and participated in various exercises including a joint exercise with the French Navy.
