Pownal, Vermont, 1960s

Nowadays, there’s not a whole lot going on at the Green Mountain Racetrack in Pownal, not too far south of Bennington. There’s a solar farm, and the radio control plane guys fly out of there on nice days. But as we can see from this photo of the track’s north parking lot supplied to us by readers Jim and Nell Winchester, at one time it was a happening place with nary an empty parking space to be found. Jim and Nell didn’t know the exact date of the photo, though, so let’s help them out by trying to figure out what year it was taken. What do you see here?
