Reader and contributor Don Homuth recently sent us a link to an Oregonian article on old grocery stores in the Portland area, and the three best carspotting images from the article all happen to date to the Sixties. Above, we see a Tradewell store at NE 15th and NE Fremont in 1964; below, we see a McKales at SE 39th and SE Division in 1965; and at bottom, we see a Piggly Wiggly (Piggly Wiggly!) at Boones Ferry and Bryant in Lake Oswego in or just after 1961.
