NHRA 2016 U.S. Nationals Saturday Photo Gallery

Ideal weather conditions continue this weekend for the Chevrolet Performance NHRA U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the cool temperature and low humidity translates into fast passes on the drag strip. As the qualifying rounds progress, the action got heated up as competitors vied for a spot in the elimination rounds. The Pro Mod class continues to draw a lot of attention from spectators and media, alike, with Street Outlaws star Justin Shearer fighting to make the cut in the 33-car field. Shearer improved on his low-7 second time yesterday by posting a 6.364 at 226.32 after the third round of qualifying. To make the field, he needs to run better than 5.895, and by comparison, the Number 1 qualifier in Pro Mod is Troy Coughlin with a 5.77 at 254.76 mph in his 520 cubic-inch ProLine-powered 2015 Corvette.
