Recently the Hemmings Motor News Concours d’Elegance announced that we were breaking with tradition with regard to the Hemmings rally – the Friday afternoon kick-off event of the Concours weekend. For the past seven years, the rally has started at our world headquarters in Bennington, Vermont, and been escorted through the pleasant countryside to the Concours location; however that has changed for 2014. As announced, the rally will start at the Saratoga Automobile Museum in the Saratoga Spa State Park.

Open to all types of collector cars, those interested in joining the caravan should convene at the museum during the morning. The rally will depart promptly at noon and head north along secondary roads to Lake George, New York, where we will stop at Lake George Shoreline and board the Adirondac for a private 1-1/2-hour tour of the famed body of water. Security will be provided to watch over our guests’ vehicles. Upon our return to the pier at roughly 4 p.m., directions to Saratoga will be provided for a self-guided tour back to Saratoga, although guests may want to take the opportunity to sightsee in the Lake George area.

Pre-registration is not required for the driving portion of the Rally; however pre-registration is required for the lake tour for a fee, which includes a catered lunch buffet and boarding pass. To register, or for more information, visit Hemmings.com/events/concours.
