It’s official: Hemmings Muscle Machines is spreading the influence of Musclepalooza south, to Raceway Park in Old Bridge Township, New Jersey, perhaps better known as Englishtown. What’s Musclepalooza? Our semi-annual gathering of muscle cars and other American performance machines for a day of show and speed, which has been held at Lebanon Valley Raceway in New Lebanon, New York, for the past few years on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.

For Memorial Day 2009, we’ll return once again to Lebanon Valley for a Sunday at the track, with the same format as previous years. But this time, we’ll spend the Labor Day weekend at Englishtown, and we’re going to make it a two-day affair, spanning Saturday and Sunday, September 5-6.

As has become the norm, we’ll have show classes for each muscle marque for first place and runner up, plus awards for best paint, engine bay, and a best of show award. On the track, the Factory Appearing Stock Tire (F.A.S.T.) racers will again return, battling it out while also attempting to break the record set at Musclepalooza VIII this past fall, which now stands at 10.53 – that’s pretty fast for a Hemi Road Runner that looks like a restored show car on reproduction bias-plies.

We’re working on more features for the E-town event, so keep checking in at Hemmings.com and here on the Hemmings Auto Blog for updates.
