Mazda militia prepares to ship out
In our carspotting series, we’ve seen plenty of photos by Charles O’Rear for the Documerica project, and while looking for more, we came across this small set of photos he took in June 1973 on the dock on Terminal Island outside Los Angeles, as rows upon rows of Mazdas and Hondas awaited shipment, presumably throughout the rest of the United States. It’s not much of a carspotting exercise, but we thought the photos were worth posting anyway. What we have to wonder is whether these photos represent the entire Mazda color palette for that year?
