Kilgore, Texas, 1960
One final photo from the Bill Schlaudt collection, shared with us by Bill’s son Louis. Like the Chicago photos, this one dates to 1960, but it shows a much different scene in Kilgore, one full of oil derricks and populated by more trucks. As for where exactly the photo was taken, there sure ain’t a shortage of derricks in downtown Kilgore, but we believe Bill stood on North Commerce Street when he took the photo.
