June Sunoco Young Racers Club Winner: Jesse Bernhagen

Congratulations to Jesse Bernhagen of Markesan, Wisconsin – our Sunoco Race Fuels Young Racers Club Winner for the month of June!

Jesse will receive a drum of race fuel and a 5 gallon utility jug from Sunoco.  He will also appear in the November 2017 issue of Circle Track.  Take a few moments to read about Jesse and his journey below.

My racing career started at age 5. I raced go-karts in Dousman, Wisconsin, and Water & Wheel’s in Shawano, Wisconsin. I grew up at Wisconsin Dells Raceway in the 90’s and that has carried on through my recent years in racing. We began racing Bandoleros with the INEX racing series in the Dells in 2005, and had a lot of success including four championships in 2007 alone. This prompted us to jump into a Limited Late Model in 2008, and we have been racing consistently at Dells Raceway ever since.

The past four years have seen the majority of our success. Over that time we have 14 feature wins at four different race tracks (16 total). We have set fast time at five different tracks and own 1 Track record, (Tomah Sparta Raceway). We have raced at every track in the state of Wisconsin, as well as Hawkeye Downs, (Cedar Rapids, IA.), Elko (MN) Speedway, Rockford (IL) Speedway, and Grundy County Speedway, (Morris IL). AND Rockford Speedway covered in dirt! One of the most fun nights of my life.

It has been an awesome career, and we have gotten around to a lot of different places on an already short budget, along with a lot of success. Thank you for an awesome opportunity.
