A number of the ads that Jeff Koch recently discussed in his story on collecting old car advertisements came from South Africa, which got us wondering what the streetscapes of that country looked like – were they similar to the United States, Europe, Australia, South America, or were they more of a mishmash of all of the above? Just as we were wondering that, reader Stéphane Dumas pointed out this video shot in 1970 around Johannesburg, South Africa, with plenty of carspotting scenes starting about 1:30 into the video.
