This year’s MVPA Bankhead Highway convoy isn’t the club’s first big trek; in fact, twice before the club organized convoys that followed the Alaska Highway. It’s a good bet, though, that they didn’t see the sort of conditions these 11 giant Mack trucks saw in 1956 during a supply run up to the DEW line. Looks like fun. (via)

* So there probably aren’t that many parallels between “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World” and “Mad Max: Fury Road,” but that didn’t stop Ezequiel López from mashing up the trailer from the latter and scenes from the former to create “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad Max: Fury Road.”

* Finally, emboldened by the NZ car chase scene we posted last week, Stéphane Dumas suggested a couple other foreign film car chase scenes, including the one here from the Argentine film “Commando Azules,” probably the only car chase in which the chasers stop to comment on the destruction throughout the chase and still somehow catch up to the chasee every time.
