Hemmings Find of the Day – 1982 Matra Rancho
It probably won’t tackle the Rubicon anytime soon, but this front-wheel-drive 1982 Matra Rancho for sale on Hemmings.com – one of the lesser-seen Decouvrable versions – certainly tries to look the part and appears to remain in good condition and ready for an overnight soft-roading excursion. From the seller’s description:
Extremely rare, only seven have survived in Europe and only two in Germany – you can get a wonderful small SUV – the first European SUV built from 1977 to 1984 as the extremely rare convertible version! Only 100 were built in France from Matra. These cars were sold from 1977 to 1979 from Simca – Matra, and 1980 to 1984 from Talbot – Matra.
Built in 1981, first registration in 1982. Engine: 1,4 Liter with 80 hp and front wheel drive (no AWD),
Complete original very good condition; aluminum wheels, new cover, original Rancho bed for camping/sleeping. Restoration done from garage – no private works, no rust, technical complete restored with original spare parts, engine reconditioning, a (added) trailer full of spare parts.
