Hemmings Find of the Day – 1979 AMC Pacer D/L
Almost 35 years is a long time for a car to remain in original condition. It’s about doubly as long for a car that didn’t get much respect from car collectors until recent years, but this 1979 AMC Pacer D/L appears to be as original as they come, with just 16,000 miles on its original 258-cu.in. six-cylinder engine. From the seller’s description:
This one is a 16,112 original low mile unrestored “survivor” in pristine running order. A closer look reveals factory chalk marks still present in the engine bay and driver door jamb. Additionally, the date code correct seatbelts are present as well as factory maintenance and service decals just as they were placed there rolling down the assembly line in ’79!
