Hemmings Find of the Day – 1977 Chrysler Newport
Driveable dream 1977 Chrysler Newport for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:
The basics – 151,300 miles, 400 4-bbl, 4 door sedan, light package, manual windows and door locks but power trunk release, A/C converted to 134a and blows cold. I added search turn radio and digital clock.
The car is all original. The mechanicals, body and interior are in great shape.
Highlights: Paint is still deep and rich and you can see the metalflake when the Sun hits it. Body is straight. Engine and transmission pull strong. Steering and brakes are great. Cloth interior is like new except for some tears in the left front and right front seats. Vinyl roof is similar – like new except for two little tears in the back. Headliner is perfect as is the dash which is still supple and still looks brand new. Carpet is like new as well.
Issues: Minor engine and transmission leaks, body was keyed on the right before I got the car, left door jamb has a small dent, the left rear fender has a slight ripple and there is rust on the bottom of the left rear fender. Needs Freon at the start of the Summer.
Other: New Interstate battery, like new Goodyear Regatta 2 235/75×15 tires. Additional search tune radios and analog clock included.
