Seeing an opportunity to launch a mid-engine sports car of its own, Lancia positioned the Scorpion as an upscale alternative to the Fiat X1/9, and sold the car alongside its front-engine, rear drive Beta coupe. As the Scorpion only lasted from 1976 until 1978 in the U.S. market, sales of the distinctive coupe were few, making well-preserved survivors rare. This 1976 Lancia Scorpion for sale on Hemmings.com comes from the car’s first U.S. model year, and has had a single owner over the past nine years.
