Hemmings Find of the Day – 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu station wagon
From the seller’s description:
1973 Malibu Wagon, 27,000 original miles and it shows! Engine is a 350 2bl, P/S, P/B, A/C Blows Cold. AM//FM 8-Track. In April of 1973 Miss Mildred Bunce received a small inheritance from her late sister, and walked into Apple Chevrolet in Flint, Michigan, where she purchased this 1973 Malibu wagon. The car was then passed on to her niece, Doris Olson, in 1981, and I purchased the vehicle from a broker in 2011. I have owned several of these 1973-77 Chevelles and know the trouble areas that can deteriorate quickly, the dash pad, chrome foil trim on dash, paper call-outs for ventilation controls – all are in excellent condition on this vehicle. Rear storage area and headliner are excellent. In 2011, the repair of a small crease in the driver’s door turned into a full repaint and conversion to a SS optioned Malibu wagon. A true 1973 SS Chevelle was used as a measurement guide for stripes and emblems. Front and rear stabilizer bars are from Detroit Muscle, dual exhaust system uses Magnaflow mufflers. Car includes a binder of all professional work I have had done to bring this vehicle up to a dependable driver. Protect-o-plate, original spare tire. SOLD AS IS. This car was intended to be used in my business but came out just too nice for daily use, resulting in me just adding 4,000 miles over 6 years. Miss Bunce would be proud!
