20 years ago, when I started looking for the perfect Citroen SM, I had a lot of criteria. It had to be a 1971 or 1972 (the good years), it had to be clean, have a great colour and leather interior, European headlights, mechanically perfect and be fast.

This is an excellent, mostly original example of a European 1972 SM. It was bought new in Toronto, Canada, in 1972 (Canada got the European models), and I am the third owner. It runs like a dream and has European headlights, five-speed, Black leather, new carpets. As you can see by the pictures, it has the RARE factory option sunroof that was ordered on a few cars in 1972. All in all, she is a rare beauty.
It has a few modifications for convenience, such as a relocated battery (to the trunk). This is a much more convenient position than the under-the-fender factory position – if you have to change batteries. There is also a convenient auxiliary switch to keep the fans on to cool the engine on hot summer days.
