Hemmings Find of the Day – 1971 Plymouth Duster 340
Not too many cars sport an orange and black paint and interior scheme, which makes this 1971 Plymouth Duster 340 for sale on Hemmings.com the perfect HFOD for today. The seller seems to indicate that it came from the factory that way too, which we don’t find that hard to believe given the demographic the Duster 340 was marketed to. From the seller’s description:
The best of the Duster clan. A 1971 Duster 340, A true H-car. Title says so, as do build sheet/fender tag. 4 spd on the floor (HURST) of course, 150mph speedo. Last year for the hi-compression 340, 10 1/2 comp, rated 275 HP, but actually tipped the HP readings at 325 HP. First yr for Sharktooth grille (buy one of those on-line), last year engines (340) were painted Hemi Orange. Did I say this Duster has the rare, rare orange interior? 3.23 gears in a 8 3/4 rear end. Did I say this has been a catalog cover car for a Mopar parts biz out East? Yes, I do have the cover!! Oh,yes the mileage-15XXXX (documented).
