Hemmings Find of the Day – 1971 Datsun 510
We’ve been following the progress of the Project 510 over on Build Threads, and that got us wondering what a decent 510 project car goes for. As chance would have it, this 1971 Datsun 510 project car popped up for sale on Hemmings.com at just about the same time, and we can’t imagine a much better base for a project. Solid body, comes with its original interior, and doesn’t have a drivetrain, leaving engine/transmission choice up to you. Restore it, or SR20 it? From the seller’s description:
This is a super clean RUST FREE car – stored for years in the high desert of Southern California – previous owner painted it and lost interest in the project. No engine or transmission – otherwise complete with many hard to find or unavailable trim parts.
Parts that go with car: * All glass plus 1 extra tinted rear window * All window rubber * All window moldings * Original Interior Dash Pad Sun visors Carpeting Rear seat Package Tray * Brand New Carpet Kit (black) * Original wiring harness
