Hemmings Find of the Day – 1970 Chevrolet Concours
How this 1970 Chevrolet Concours station wagon has managed to avoid donating its parts to the restoration of a Malibu or Chevelle SS and at the same time remained un-gussied up with styled wheels, bucket seats and a cowl-induction hood, we have no idea. What remains, though, is a practical and driveable small-block-powered California car that appears to be in roadworthy shape. From the seller’s description:
4 door, 8 passenger Chevelle Concours model with fold down third row rear seat. Tailgate opens both ways – folds down and also swings away to the left to allow people to “step in” to access the 3rd row seat. 350 V-8, 4 barrel- runs great – no leaks (I am guessing about 5-7k miles on what looks and drives like a total engine rebuild?, sorry, no paper work on engine rebuild or replacement ) Turbo 350 automatic transmission –no leaks. Air conditioning- (needs a R-134 A recharge), Power Steering, Power Brakes, Aftermarket AM /FM stereo with cassette player. Radial Tires with 60 percent tread left. Runs and drives excellent. Odometer shows -44,987 – not sure of the true mileage — Original California car — no evidence of accidents or rust out—but it did pick up a salvage title somewhere in it”s 36 year life –(have no clue, why or how, I suspect a insurance theft claim or something like that but not as a wreck salvage.)
