Hemmings Find of the Day – 1969 Chevrolet K20
Given its configuration and its low-mileage, rust-free condition, it’s probably a safe bet that this 1969 Chevrolet K20 for sale on Hemmings.com started out as a brush truck for some rural fire department. The red paint also kinda gives that away. Sans the firefighting/rescue gear (and remaining unmodified from that 4WD, four-speed, 350, utility bed configuration), it still looks to be a capable rig and could probably easily be transformed into a backcountry camper. From the seller’s description:
This is a lo milage rust free truck, always garaged and never exposed to road salt truck with a recent cab off restoration, This is a 3/4 ton, 4X4 workhorse with a rust free Reading Utility Body. Under the hood is a smooth running rebuilt 350 4 bolt V-8 with a elderbrock carb and hi rise manifold with mallory electronic ignition, coupled to a rebuilt 4 speed transmission, transfer case and rebuilt rears all with no oil leaks. It has locking hubs, power steering, power brakes, new interior with a summit racing bench seat and new glass trimmed with stainless steel, new alloy aluminum wheels, tires and many other improvements
