Hemmings Find of the Day – 1967 Chevrolet Suburban
Remember those 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 kits you put together as a kid? The ones that offered you a choice of how to build a car, whether it be stock, hot rod, or full-on race? This 1967 Chevrolet Suburban for sale on Hemmings.com is kind of like a full-scale version of those, with a choice of two bodies (three-door Sub or regular pickup cab) and pretty much all the parts necessary to put a full truck together. From the seller’s description:
This suburban has been taken down to the frame and the restoration was in progress. Many items have been rebuilt or are new. When ordered in 1967 it was fitted with Stelite(sp?) Industrial Engine Valves.
Frame has been cleaned and painted and was going to be turned into a flatbed truck. Suburban body has some damage but everything is there to reassemble. This is really an amazing opportunity for someone to jump and customize or finish the restoration.
List of rebuilt parts: 292 engine inline 6 bored 0.030 over, New Process 4 speed manual transmission, Rockwell transfer case- all gear drive. . . there is a second transfer case to use for parts, 1st (Mdl# T221 N 1 Ratio 1:94 Ser# 6 67-0119), 2ND Mdl# T221 N S Ratio 1:94 Ser# 8 67-0949)
Used parts: Single barrel carb, 2 speed electric Shift over/under gearbox, it fits between the bell housing and Transmission, PTO gear box that attaches to Rockwell transfer case, 100 amp alternator
Also comes with an extra single cab that was going to put on the truck. Truck is in pieces but complete and ready to become whatever you want it to be!!! Dash& gauges from extra truck cab have been individually taped face down to cardboard and stored inside for many years. Original Suburban body parts have been stored inside a shed, garage, or the suburban shell. 2 Chrome front bumpers, 1 rear. Custom tow hitch fits frame. 2 manuals.
My research has found that only 120… 4-wd 3/4 ton were built in 1967.
