Hemmings Find of the Day – 1966 Plymouth Valiant
Some would use the term “cheap.” We prefer “thrifty” or just “basic” to describe this 1966 Plymouth Valiant four-door sedan for sale on Hemmings.com. With a slant six, bench seat, three on the tree, dog dish hubcaps, and some dings, dents, rust and scrapes on its dirt-brown body from nearly a half-century of use, it certainly ain’t sexy, but who says this hobby should only celebrate the high-horsepower, high-style cars and not everyday workhorses that put plenty of honest miles of transportation under their tires? From the seller’s description:
42 K original miles; four door; Three speed column shift manual transmission; original color match painted rims and caps; good tires; replaced parts including wheel and master cylinders, water pump, fuel pump, interior floor rug, battery, headlamps, exhaust system, 50W tape deck/ EQ in glove box; original Carter carburetor; etc. original paint, light beige color; needs some body work and paint (see pictures); very few modifications, a former car show winner for Best Original; an easy restoration project to stock conditions. Some authentic extras include the original Good Year spare tire, dealer supplied ice scraper, Chrysler Certicard, etc. Runs great! Strong clutch and no known mechanical issues!
