It certainly makes sense to convert old mail trucks into ice cream trucks – neither has to move fast, but they do have to keep running and moving all day long; they both have to haul their own particular loads; and they both were designed to navigate suburban and city streets. Which is why, come to think of it, we’re surprised we don’t see more old mail Jeeps like this 1966 Jeep FJ-6 for sale on Hemmings.com refurbished and converted into ice cream trucks. From the seller’s description:

One of a kind ice cream truck! This 1966 Jeep FJ6-A has been converted to an ice cream truck by professional food truck builders in Los Angeles. Meets all health department standards, plenty of standing room. Includes commercial freezer, and generator that sits on extended bumper rack.
