Hemmings Find of the Day – 1962 Plymouth Belvedere

Published by Mike on

One would think that the appeal to most vintage police cars is their connection to the community in which they originally served. Getting the details right for New York City police cruisers, circa June 1973, that sort of thing. But this 1962 Plymouth Belvedere for sale on Hemmings.com, done up as a state trooper’s car, takes a different approach, going with a generic police cruiser look without any direct identification with one particular state. Possibly done to avoid strict laws against impersonating a police officer? From the seller’s description:

Perfect black and white finish on no rust body. Excellent chrome. Gorgeous wine and silver correct interior. Strong and tight original “Y block” V8. Desirable original push button automatic transmission. Rare find with power steering and working factory A/C. New Radial tires. Top “Gumballs” and interior Red Light and Siren all work. Has old school police radio,CB,shotgun, camera and Radar gun. Star says “Mopar Police”! Highly detailed throughout.
