It’s not as though older limousines don’t command any less respect and awe than they did when new. It’s just that when they are allowed to get a little worn down, as is the case with this 1960 Cadillac Fleetwood Seventy-Five limousine for sale on Hemmings.com, it typically takes quite a bit more effort to get them looking like a million bucks again. Fortunately, this one’s all there, so its restoration won’t necessarily turn into a Herculean effort. From the seller’s description:
This is a long wheelbase Limousine with jump seats. It has formal black interior with Fawn Bedford Cord and Fawn Wool Broadcloth original interior. It has the original 390 Cu In Cadillac V-8 motor and is exceptionally well equiped with Dual air conditioning (front and rear), power steering, power brakes, power windows, power locks. It has been well maintained. Low miles – 67,513.
It is an easy restoration to becoming a valuable example of early 1960′s wealth and opulence.
The car does need a complete restoration, it is 100% complete so sourcing those hard to find, one off peices for a limo is not an issue with this car. There is some rust in three of the lower door skins, an easy fix since the lower skins are the same as the sedans or patch panels can be fabricated since the lower doors are flat surfaces. The body appears to have NO rust issues.
The car has been sitting since 1996 and will need to be traillered to its new home. it is not currently in drivable condtion. There has been no tampering with the vehicle. Even the A/C appears to be charged with its original R-12 refrigerant. Belts, hoses and cable controls and all functional items are original and still function.
