Hemmings Find of the Day – 1956 Powell pickup
Considering that Powells were built on Plymouth chassis and mechanicals and were designed to be as simple to manufacture (and, presumably, rebuild) as possible, one would assume they’d be a cinch to restore, but we hardly ever see them done up as nice as this 1956 Powell pickup for sale on Hemmings.com appears. From the seller’s description:
The 1956 Powell presented here comes to us from a long-term stint in a private collection. This restored vehicle remains in excellent condition and finished in correct yellow over two-tone yellow and brown interior. Mechanically, the truck has recently been serviced, is turn-key and ready to drive. Running and driving Powell Pickups are nearing extinction, with only a handful of examples on the road. This is an opportunity to acquire a unique piece of Americana as well as a classic truck that one is hard pressed to duplicate.
