An all-electric Pontiac from the mid-Fifties? Haddabeen a concept car, right? Or some one-off? Well, it wasn’t meant for the road, anyway, as we see from this 1956 Pontiac Junior Star Chief for sale on Hemmings.com, a restored and fully driveable kiddie car that looks like it would seat two kids or maybe one petite adult. No word on the total horsepower or range. From the seller’s description:

The Junior Star Chief was built for Pontiac Dealers to promote the new 1956 Pontiac. They were given away to lucky children through a variety of contests. These great little cars are approximately one third the size of a real 1956 Pontiac. They were the brain child of Jack Stuart a Designer with Pontiac’s promotional division. Junior Star Chief production was contracted to Silvestri Art Studios of Chicago Illinois by Pontiac.

The body is made of fiberglass. The steel chassis is powered by a 12 volt battery which powers a real Pontiac starter motor. Features include: Forward and Reverse, Foot Operated Brake. Working Headlamps, Working Tail lamps, and a Working Horn.

Finished in 1956 Pontiac Sun Beige and Sandalwood. White Vinyl Interior. Ready to drive (if you can fit), show, and enjoy.
